I was born Amy Elizabeth in Detroit, Michigan. Detroit, incidentally, is a city that cannot be fully understood unless one has lived here. There are many good things about Detroit that are overlooked, but everyday-living here is hard.
In the begining I was Amy in training.
As an adult, I met a man who is more than I could have hoped for. I still remember when, during our first date, I had the overwhelming sense that I would be with this man forever. Sure enough, it was not long until I married Andrew on a warm September evening.
Andrew and I are raising two fantastic children: Blake and Grace. They make me laugh and they keep me busy. Being a parent has changed me for the better.
In my spare time, I am a half-time student at Oakland Community College. I am working towards my Associates of Applied Science, with the goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. Nursing is something I am very much looking forward to.
I am surrounded by loving friends and family who are supportive and dependable. I am so glad to have these precious people in my life. This world can be cold without the kindness of friends.
More than anything else in my life, my relationship with my Maker is important to me. I believe in Jesus. I believe He is the Son of God, the only Way. I believe He gave himself to die for my sins, and that He rose to life again three days later so that I might live with Him in heaven for eternity. And so, I believe that there is nothing more that I can do with my life than to love and serve Him with everything I am. If this all sounds strange to you, perhaps you can ask me to explain things a little more. I’d be happy to.
In the end, I am still Amy in training.
